Our match fees are set to cover the costs of playing hockey matches (c.£100,000 across a full season) over and above the costs met by annual subscriptions, which are for the provision and maintenance of the Pound Lane facilities, coaching and equipment (c.£200,000 annually).

The elements that make up the costs of matches, highest to lowest, are:

· External pitch hire (Redgrave Centre and Bisham Abbey)

· League affiliation fees and competition fees

· Match teas

· Umpiring costs

All these elements apply to teams playing senior league games, and the match fees are set to recover these costs as closely as possible.

In the 2026/27 season, Senior players are charged £14 per match with Juniors and 18-25 year olds £11. The junior match fees are lower as many of them also play in age group teams where further match fees are due. It is not practical to charge for teas only for those who stay for them, and in any event, the club believes that staying for teas should be encouraged as part of being a member of a team.

Pre-season and friendly matches do not bear all the same costs and match fees are therefore lower.

Match fees for Junior games are also lower for a similar reason, unless teas are provided (e.g. for some cup matches).
