It was a sunny day on pound lane, and the boys were geared up for defending fortress marlow. With the away fixture being a 0-0 scrap, we knew it was going to be a battle to win. The boys started off well dominating possession everywhere on the pitch, with John Hooker and Phil Cowell bossing it in defence. However the lack of outcomes started to frustrate marlow, leading to Alex Land receiving green and Chris Land receiving yellow for chat to the umpire.
Shortly after this Eastbounre scored a short corner, which was well placed to the left of the Dutchman in goal. However Marlow bounced back with a wonder goal set up by Imre Gerrits and neatly finished by Matt Ashton. Led by Ross, the Marlow firm kept the boys fired up and we continued to dominate the fatiguing Eastbourne. However a highly debatable yellow card was given to Ali Dalton for what seemed like a perfectly decent tackle. The umpire certainly got an ear full from the rowdy home crowd.
At 1-1 Marlow were well on top, and it looked inevitable that we would get an outcome soon, but the boys couldn't capitalise on the chances they made and the game ended with each team only taking 1 point.
