Mom Josh Rollet Dod Rohit Kappor Goals: Dave Guy and Will Strang

Marlow 'the giant killers' met another premier league team in the shape of Hampstead and Westminster. Coming off of the back of two wins marlow were full of confidence going into the game.

Marlow were full of attacking options and planned to pile pressure onto what was thought to be a weak defence having conceded 17 in their last two games. However, marlow were soon on the back foot and were 4-0 down inside 15 minutes.

After the initial onslaught, during which captain Dave Harding and midfielder Rohit kapoor sobered up, marlow started to play some of the hockey that they are known for with the 2 lands pulling the strings and creating some good attacking moments. Hampstead put another devastating short corner away to extend their lead to 5-0.

With 20 minutes on the clock marlow knew they had to knuckle down or the score could turn embarrassing. Marlow had started to create a few good attacking opportunities and almost got on the score sheet had will strang not pulled off an excellent save from Dave guy's goal bound shot. However marlow's attacking pressure soon gave results. Chris land took a speculative trademark reverse stick shot from the byline which rebounded out into the middle of the d where Dave guy drilled home a tasty volley. Marlow started to see chinks in the premier team's armour and soon shook the net again. A well worked short corner routine saw alex land put the ball on a plate for will strang who slid it underneath a floundering Hampstead goalkeeper.

Half time couldn't come quick enough for Hampstead and they were happy when the whistle blew at 5-2.

The second half was a much tighter affair with Marlow showing that they could compete with the best and frustrating the home team. Marlow's defence tightened up and with the introduction of mom josh rollet Hampstead's chances became few and far between. However Marlow couldn't capitalise on the momentum gained at the end of the first half and Hampstead managed to squeeze another goal in.

Overall Marlow came off the pitch feeling that they had done themselves proud, demonstrating that they can easily compete with some of the best in the country.
