In the first of 3 matches Marlow U10 laid down a convincing 2-0 lead against neighbouring side High Wycombe. With a strong attacking formation in Leo, Sean and Nick we put into practice a text book short corner.
In the second match against Amersham and Chalfont we took the lead early on and looked strong at 1-0 into half-time thanks to Leo. A&C proved a strong opponent and pulled one back. We finished the game with a 1-1 draw.
The third and final game saw us play Milton Keynes. With a defence using Kit it seemed nothing would get past him. CJ once again delivered a pivotal sweeping roll to set the play from defence creating opportunities for Jacob G, Jacob F, Seb and Joel on quick sub turnarounds. We held a strong defensive line that proved difficult to move past.
Once again using our signature short corner move we went 1-0 up before numerous goals took us almost into double figures. Sean ran a number of strong dribbling moves down the right crossing the ball to create opportunity for the other forwards to score.
All in all an outstanding performance by the team who took a tournament joint first losing only on a goal difference of 2 points to the host team A&C. Thanks to Mike Irving who taught the boys the key moves in the taking and defending demon short corners the day before.
Player of the match: Sean.
