A lot of hockey fun had by our year 3's over at Maidenhead on Sunday morning - mostly due to my slight over-optimism in entering 3 teams on the same day as the Marlow 5k!!

Despite only having 12 players we still managed to fulfill all but one of our 15 fixtures with everyone getting 7 games of hockey and Marlow players being moved from pitch to pitch for the whole hour and a half without a break! Many thanks to the parents who helped me juggle fixtures and players everywhere and even allow me time for a few umpiring slots. Particular thanks to Simon Babes for leading "team 2"

Some fantastic hockey was on display and real indication of some of the key things that the coaches have been working on during Saturday sessions. Spreading out, holding positions, only committing one player to the tackle and passing were all on show and resulted in lots of goals for Marlow. At one point a move of 6 passes got the ball from one end to the other and so nearly resulted in a brilliant team goal!
