Marlow u16 girls set out on our second match of the season against Oxford. We knew we had a tough match ahead of us as we narrowly beat them last year.
After a quick team talk and warm up we were ready to go. We set out strong, everyone was working hard for each other and we were winning 50/50 balls. Thanks to Alex Lane in the centre, the ball was distributed around the pitch which enabled our forwards to use their mad pace and drive up the line. We managed to enter the D multiple times but unfortunately didn't get any outcomes.
Our work rate dropped in the second half which meant Oxford had a few opportunities to score, however, Ayls Ramm in goal saved the day multiple times!!
After some lovely build up of play Alex Lane shot across the goal, Josephine who was on left post perfectly slapped the ball in and we were 1-0 ahead!!
Now with more momentum we continued to drive up the pitch, we were passing the ball around the Oxford players. But unfortunately still didn't get anymore outcomes.
Man of the match goes to Josephine Cadinouche for her fab goal. We're looking forward to our next match against Wycombe in two weeks time. Hopefully we will score earlier so we don't stress Steph out on the sideline ;)
