Marlow started the game with a seven goal target in mind.
They got straight to it in the first couple of minutes, with Nick Winter scoring a low drag-flick. Minutes later Jared Moehl scored a lovely deflection from a Greg Tyler cross. As the floodgates began to open, Ed Tyler was floored by a raised clearance to the groin, resulting in a short corner. Joe Allnutt (on his league debut for Marlow) fired in another penalty corner drag flick, followed swiftly by Nick Winter putting away a top-right corner flick. Joe scored again just before the break, after poaching it from the Teddington defence and mugging the keeper off.
5-0 at half time and coach Kate Porter urged the team to score at least 5 more or else she would be disappointed.
It didn’t take long for Elliot Killington to find the net and Joe Allnutt, to score from a very tight angle to complete his hat-trick. Jared Moehl got a second goal soon after. Cam Beazley-Clarke scored a tap in to make it 9-0. Elliot Killington kept working hard to reach the team’s target and fired in 2 more goals to make it 11-0 before the final whistle.
Captain, Toby "Clean Sheet" Bruce, wearing his shiny new lid had a vocal game but didn't get too many touches of the ball. Overall, a strong performance which was rewarded with a record league scoreline for the U16 boys.
