On Sunday 18th of October, the Marlow U16 boys played their second game of the England Hockey Cup against Wycombe at Bisham Abbey. The newly laid pitch was blue, but the Marlow boys were determined to make sure the game was red. Overall there’s not much to be said about a rather dull game of hockey. Marlow were too arrogant and at no point was the attitude positive enough for a team looking to go far this season. Major changes will need to be made for this team to perform at the standard they should be. If Marlow don't wake up then the early success this season will turn to failure by the end, something none of us want. To be disappointed after beating our local rivals 9-0 illustrates the need for better performances. Our attitude as individuals and as a team is going to have to improve at training and matches. From all these issues there are some positives. At the end of the game we all realised that to win against better oppositions we’d have to improve. This improvement can happen, and if we focus it will happen. There were no outstanding performances so no MOTM was chosen, but DOTD was Charlie Thrush for his interesting choice of Ice-Gem Haircut.
