After a long break from competitive hockey, the U14 girls played their first match of 2015. Without captain Melike, currently out through injury, and the opponents Buckingham also undefeated it was always going to be a tough game. Marlow started strongly and settled into their usual attacking format. The Buckingham GK made some good saves but Sophie Willis found her way through with a reverse stick strike midway through the first half. More chances for the home side came and went throughout the game with the crossbar also keeping Marlow at bay. How the score stayed T 1-0 I will never know but it certainly made for an exciting game for the spectator with many oo's and ah's from the sideline. Buckingham also had their chances but the Marlow GK Mila, stood her ground and kept a further clean sheet thankfully.
With 1 more league and 1 more cup match left, this side look very difficult to beat and grow in confidence with each game.
