Marlow entered this competition because they believed they could win it. Now in the draw for the 4th round knowing a win will put them in the quarter final they are proving their worth.
A young side travelled to Gloucester after the Beer Pong / food fight event, but it was the veteran Richard Clee that ruled the show.
Director of Hockey, Mike Irving, came out of retirement (at the age of 28) and contributed well to Gloucester's attack when he opened the scoring after 20 mins, just getting a nick on a speculative ball, played from outside the D, travelling at all of 7mph!
From the minute the captain took himself off at half time Marlow never looked back as they totally dominated the second half. First, the rejuvenated, Josh Rollett converted a PC with a high flick and then Oscar Ancliff popped up to seal the win from close range.
Clee was instrumental in shutting out the game and if he continues to play like he did in the last 15 mins there is a danger he'll be back in the 1st team!
The draw takes place tomorrow so please clear your diaries for the 26th Jan.
Huge thanks to those that drove and please don't organise a Social for the 25th Jan!!!
