Marlow U10 boys reach the regional cup semi-finals at Surbiton last weekend having won the Bucks cup some weeks ago.

We saw the Marlow U10 boys play some of their best passing games of the whole season at the Southern Counties championships last weekend at Surbiton.

Our fantastic team were winners of their pool and although having drawn 0 – 0 to East Grinstead, they then beat both Wimbledon & Wallingford 2 – 0 to reach a place in the cup quarter finals. Here they met the City of Portsmouth and still worked relentlessly with some fantastic defence by both Spencer, Gillen & Bussell, feeding into the Rollett/Gillen midfield & down the flanks to ever spirited and dangerous combination of Atkins, Atkinson, Watts, Peacock & Dees. Goal keeper King lived up to his name in saving a barrage of shots and keeping a clean sheet of the tournament. 2 – 0 to Marlow again.
A few niggles of fatigue, illness & injury were creeping in by the semi- finals which became a big challenge for them both mentally & physically against a very strong – and eventual winners - Canterbury. Good character building stuff to cope with goals against them and still not give up.
You made us all proud boys & great end to the season.
