Marlow Hockey Club Coaching Vacancies

Marlow Hockey Club is based in the small town of Marlow on the edge of the Chiltern Hills and river Thames. It is a friendly happy club with its own clubhouse and pitch on the same site. We also regularly use the pitches at Bisham Abbey and Great Marlow School. We have approximately 600 juniors ranging from U8 to U18 training at various times during the week and at weekends. We pride ourselves with having one of the best junior set ups in the country for developing young players. We have very close links with both secondary schools in the town, in particular Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School who we have coaching links with to enable us to provide additional coaching opportunities for aspiring and experienced coaches. Both our men’s and ladies 1st teams play in South Central Premier Division 1 and would like to push for promotion to the National League in the next couple of seasons.
We have the following vacancies

Ladies 1s Coach
We are looking for an experienced coach to build on the good work our previous coach has done over the last 5 years. Sessions are on Wednesday evenings at our home pitch in Marlow from 7.30pm-9.15pm. The coach will be responsible for planning, running sessions, video feedback (we have just purchased a Veo camera) and attending Saturday matches as well as building on the positive culture that already exists within the squad. We would welcome applications from potential player coaches as well as coaches who would like to combine more than one of our available roles.

Junior Coaches
Our joint programme includes primary school outreach sessions as well as a planned primary school league and after school club sessions for primary schools if they request it. We also run a joint holiday camp programme during the school holidays. Sir William Borlase’s run sessions on the Pound Lane pitch every day after school. Coaches are always needed for the different age groups each evening. Marlow Hockey Club sessions then follow on from 6pm where we run junior sessions from 6-7.30pm and adult sessions 7.30-9.15pm.

The club would like to develop Flyerz Hockey sessions and walking hockey during the day as well as building on our Back to Hockey daytime sessions we have been running this year.

As a result of all this hockey activity we are looking for 3 hockey coaches to work approximately 25 hours per week each across both club and school. We have a range of ages and abilities who will need coaching which should make for an interesting job for anyone who is looking to make coaching their career. The key squads are girls U12s, Boys U14s and Boys U18s.

We are a generous club, keen to support our coaches, therefore remuneration is negotiable and will be based on experience.
Please get in touch if you would like to be part of our expanding successful club with your hockey CV and short covering letter –

All hockey coaches working for Marlow Hockey will be DBS checked and will require up to date Safeguarding and First Aid Certificates.
