Hockey 5’s is back at Marlow!

Marlow hosted the England’s first-ever Hockey Fives tournament in 2025 and it was non-stop — fast, fearless, and ridiculously fun. Think the flair and 3D skills of the outdoor game… but somehow even quicker than indoor. Relentless, chaotic, and absolutely hilarious from first whistle to last.

Now we’re back: 27–28 June 2026

Spots are already going, so don’t hang about. Grab your team, bring the energy, and get ready for the most fun you can have on a pitch.

FAQ:

What is 5’s?
A fast paced version of hockey with the playing field slightly smaller than a quarter pitch. The pitch is enclosed by boards, meaning the action never pauses.. it’s faster than indoor and you can use your 3D skills. When we planned the first tournament last year, even we hadn’t realised how much fun it was to play.

Are the rules the same?
You play with 4 outfield and a keeper. There are a couple of twists with the rules; you can shoot from anywhere in the attacking half; there is a “Challenge” instead of a short corner. This is a 1v1 vs the keeper taken from the quarter line, but as soon as the attacker touches the ball, all players can run from the halfway line to join the action. We’ll give a full briefing in advance and on the day.

Do I need to have practiced before?
Absolutely not. Almost no one has played this format before. A few players may have joined the tournament last year, but no one has the chance to practice and most will be new to the format. It’s very easy to pick up!

How many players do I need?
The minimum is 5, but you might have guessed that! We recommend 8-10 players. It’s fast intense work and subs will be appreciated. You MUST have a keeper! If you don’t have one, don’t panic, let us know as we have lots of keepers and I’m sure we can help. If you can bring 2 keepers, go for it. It’s hot and as soon as they make their first clear, the keepers will realise why it’s hard work as there’s a strong chance the ball will bounce straight back to them.

How much is the entry price?
Its £150 for the first team you enter; £125 for the second team and £100 for any subsequent teams. There are some serious logistics that go into hiring, and transporting the equipment, as well as umpires and the regular costs you’d expect. We want to keep the entry price as low as possible to keep it accessible and give plenty of teams a chance to try this

How much playing time?
Depending on the number of entries, 60-70 minutes active playing time over around 3 hours per team. Last year we found that 70 minutes was about the limit for most players, even with subbing! It really is full on action-packed fun!

What can I expect from the day?
• Music, BBQ, Cakes, Photography, a really good social session!
• On the pitch, we’ll aim to have either pools then cup/plate rounds or a round robin with a placing play-off at the end. Either way, we’ll aim to end up with teams finishing on close games even if you face some challenging oppo on the way.
• Medals for all, plus a prize for each team to award to their player of the day.
• Spectators VERY welcome! Don’t miss the action!
