Hils Farrar-Hockley

I write with some very sad news. On Saturday, on the way to the club to support our first weekend of the season and SeptemberFest, Hils tragically had a heart-attack and died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

We are absolutely devastated by this news and I cannot think of a more selfless, dedicated and popular member of our club. Hils was a genuine and lovely man that nobody had a bad word for. He will be mourned and missed by everyone that knew him and our thoughts are with his wife Kim and sons Damien and Callum.

Hils joined the club as a player in the late 80s and quickly contributed as captain of the 3As from 1992 - 2002. He joined our Management Team in 1994 and has been Vice Chairman and Fixture Secretary for the last 24 years. Hils twice won the Chairman's Salver for outstanding contribution and in 2017 became an Honorary Life Member for his amazing role managing fixtures, pitches, umpires, Bucks County, league and umpire associations and much, much more

Hockey is trivial at this time and Hils' passing leaves a huge gap at the heart of our club that will never be filled in the same way or with the same energy and passion. We do know though that Hils would wish for us to carry on into the season with the same organisation, fun and commitment that makes Marlow such a great hockey club.
