Marlow 1s vs Woking Ladies 1s

It was a cold and sunny day in Marlow, but not cold enough for an underlayer #positive.
On the back of last weeks first loss of the season, our #resilience led us to step on the pitch energised and #determined to win.

We started brightly, Kerri had some great shots and Louisa committed diving into the back post. It was looking like a storming performance however the Woking GK was having a strong match and fielding every effort from the girls.

We were solid in the midfield and the back line did a great job at soaking up the pressure. Jess released the ball well, drove the line and broke through the line of defence.

It was a little sloppy in places but the team focused to get back on top. Ellie worked hard with the forward line to track back and win short corners which unfortunately we weren’t able to covert.

Finally after a lot of pressure, Marlow broke the deadlock with a ball fired in by Alex T for Kerri to jump on the end of with a first time shot.

We go into Epsom next week with heads held high but knowing we need to step it up another gear.
