U14 Girls reach their highest score to date!!

The girls were nervous to start the match, thinking they were the stronger team but knowing you must never under estimate the effort an underdog team will put in. Marlow had a short corner within the first couple of minutes and scored, only to have the goal disallowed as it was taken from outside the D. They continued to pile on the pressure and just after 5 minutes had been played Molly scored her first U14 goal. Soon after Alice tucked away Marlow's second to be followed by a scooped goal from Sarah. Sas scored goals 4 and 6 before half time, with JP finding her spot in the middle for number 5. GK, Mia L was not to be left out of the action, and when Wycombe managed to break through the Marlow defence and have a player free who thought she had an open goal, Mia dived across to keep her clean sheet. After an inspiring team talk from Kate and Jo at half time, the second half was full of more and more pressure from the Marlow team who were not starting to enjoy themselves. Goal 7 was scored by Lana and goals 8 and 9 were awesome from Sarah to complete her hatrick - both in the top left hand corner - the Wycombe keeper looked quite surprised! Flo slotted away number 10 and Lana made it 11 with a few minutes to play. A great game of hockey for our Marlow parents to watch I'm sure and the whole team played really well.
