Scrappy game see Marlow win 5-0 and keep the unbeaten run going....

Marlow 3rd XI travelled to Windsor on Saturday to try and keep the unbeaten run going and put in a strong performance before next weeks big game against West London. They kept the unbeaten run going, but it was a very par standard from a team that knows they can play better.

Marlow started slow and it was the packed midfield of Windsor that saw them create the most chances in the first 10 minutes which they failed to convert due to the strong defence of Marlow and keeper Joe Daniels who had a great game and kept Windsor out all day. Marlow however opened the account after 15 minutes with an excellent worked goal from Ben Horan and Chris Burnett. The second half continued with a lot of sloppy play from both sides, granted the pitch wasn't great but Marlow tried to crash the ball through the midfield of Windsor and the link up play between the midfield and defence for Marlow was average. All said and done, Marlow went into half time 3-0 up but with a lot to talk about.

The second half started well for Marlow and they started to play the 2 touch hockey they are used too. Goals from Robin Walls and Ben Dawson saw Marlow extend the lead to 5-0 but Marlow found it hard to break down the packed midfield of Windsor. Windsor created a number of good chances in the second half but still couldn't convert due to the best defence in the league being on form.

Marlow finished the game as 5-0 victors but there is a lot to work on for next weeks top of the table clash with West London.

Credit must go to Marlow's defence as they have not conceded a goal in 4 games, also a massive positive of the game was to see how disappointed the players were in winning 5-0 but not playing the hockey they want too. This shows that everyone is aiming for the top and pushing as hard as they can for promotion.
