Tough Day at the Office

The final game in the day at MHC saw Eastcote come to town with a strong team that outplayed Marlow 3 XI.

Due to the Bucks Cup being cancelled Marlow 3rd XI hosted Eastcote 2nd XI who are a team that play 2 leagues above Marlow 3s in MBBO Division 1. There is a lot I can say about the game and how they broke us down to score 8 goals but I feel that talking negatively about the game is the wrong thing to do as Marlow 3s can hold their heads high as we played some very good hockey and gave them a great run around. I feel fair reflection of the score line would have been 4 - 0 as we defended well and created some great chances at the top of the pitch. They were stronger than us and were that extra 2 seconds ahead of the game but we broke them down well and made them work hard for every goal.

As a team we pressed well and kept our formation. The game was a good chance for the boys to play against a well drilled and fit team which will make our game against Staines this weekend seen easy!!!

I just wanted to say well done to all the lads that played on Saturday and don't feel disheartened about the result as the real test starts in 2 weeks with the league begins.
