BU14 Cup game win for Marlow

MHC U14 A vs Oxford Hawks (EH Cup round 1):
The boys were nervous – Oxford Hawks are a strong club. We set out with determination and JS got put us up 1-0 with a deflection within the first 6 minutes. It took Oxford Hawks another 10 mins to pulled back to 1-1. The Marlow boys started to panic a bit and tried to do too much but, close marking of their number 5 to keep him out of the game and a skilful high right goal of LP’s we went into half time 2-1 up.

The second half produced some wonderful, well thought through team work with skilful passing, close marking and a spirit I haven’t seen before. Working well together and with a focus on winning, goals from JS, SG and SR gave us well deserved win of 5-3.

A fabulous game all round and the boys spirits ran high, deservedly.
Followed by a hot teas in Hawks fab clubhouse.
