Canterbury dominated the early exchanges before Marlow got into their stride following the long drive. Elliot Killington opened the scoring with a strong reverse strike after some good build up play from Greg Tyler.
The 1-0 scoreline at half time rather flattered Marlow and Canterbury equalised soon after. With play going from end to end, Marlow broke the deadlock with a well taken short corner drag flick from Nick Winter. The match continued with chances at both ends in the final quarter. In a thrilling climax to the game Marlow defended four short corners in the final two minutes to win.
Some brilliant saves throughout the match from keeper Toby Bruce kept Marlow in the match. Special mentions also to Julian Whitaker and Karan Sofat who both had excellent games.
Overall a hard fought win for Marlow who know they can play better. MOM was Toby Bruce.
