Sun 14th Feb - Marlow U16 Boys Beat Wokingham 3 - 2

Well I say under 16s. We actually had 2 U16s, 3 U15s, 3 U14s, 2 U13s and 1 U12!

A great performance by the boys. Skilfully led by Jack Turner in the centre of midfield, the Marlow boys proved that superior skill and technique can overcome size and power. Marlow led early from a Tom Packer reverse push under the keeper following a short corner and continued to dominate without adding to their lead. Just before half-time Wokingham equalised which could have been demoralising. Not for these boys. Midway into the 2nd half Jack Turner wobbled through and fed Lewis Bullen who scored expertly. With 10 minutes to go Wokingham fought back again and scored via a disputed corner. Marlow kept their heads and went straight back to the other end and Jack Turner converted a corner via a neat dribble and cool finish

The win was built on superb performances at the back from Captain Jack Turner, David Crawford, Sam Baker and a brilliant debut from Josh Rollett. Jack Turner ran the midfield with good support from Lewis Bullen and Sam North. Tom Packer and David Lambeth ran their socks off upfront. Special mention for Ben Rollett (aged 11 and half the size of the opposition) who got stuck in and chased everything completely free of fear. Stephen Williams was as ever our rock in goal

Team: Stephen Williams, David Crawford, Jack Barber, Josh Rollett, Sam Baker, Lewis Bullen, Jack Tirner, Sam North, David Lambeth, Tom Packer, Ben Rollett

Sadly we lost in January 1 - 7 to Ashford. We only had 11 and suffered 2 injuries which meant we played 50 minutes with 9 men. We also lost Johnny Wilson for the last 10 miuntes to a yellow card. Tom Packer scored Marlow's goal and the score flattered Ashford with 4 goals in the last 10 minutes as our boys tired
